As Catholic Christians, we believe that the mystery of life continues through death, and into eternity. Our faith in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ inspires us to celebrate the passing of our loved ones with hope and joy even in the midst of sorrow, knowing that physical death is not the end. Therefore we celebrate a Requiem Mass, with the body present, if possible. Normally, a funeral celebrated in this way would be for a person somehow affiliated with the parish.
In certain circumstances a funeral service may be celebrated without Holy Communion, using the Office for the Burial of the Dead.
A Memorial Requiem for the Departed is generally offered once a month, but Mass Intentions for a deceased person may be requested at any time. Memorial masses may also be offered for any deceased person, upon request. Please contact the Rector for more information and to arrange a time. Mass cards are available in the Narthex.
